Easy Paleo and Keto Meatball Sauce With Premade Masala Powder
This Tandoori Masala Garlic Meatballs recipe is made quickly and easily with a premixed tandoori masala powder mix. This recipe is low in carbs, Paleo and Keto. The powder combines a combination of toasted coriander seeds, cumin seeds, black pepper, turmeric and other spices. You can easily make this up yourself with a full ingredient list. If you buy the mix make sure it suits your Paleo diet and doesn’t contain any non spice additives or sugars.
The meatballs are made up of a combination of black pepper, garlic and spring onion leaves with eggs added in, to make meatballs that are tender and full of flavor.
Easy Recipe Adaptations
Beef meatballs have been used in this recipe, which you can substitute with other types of meatballs of your choice. You can also change up the seasonings used in your meatballs or add on other seasonings to the ones used.
Tandoori Masala Garlic Meatballs Recipe
- 300g ground beef
- 1 medium egg
- half a teaspoon black pepper
- 1 teaspoon chopped garlic
- 3 tablespoons sliced spring onion leaves
- half a teaspoon cayenne pepper
- half a teaspoon paprika
- 1 heaped teaspoon tandoori masala spice mix
- half a small onion, diced
- 1 medium to large tomato, chopped
- half a cup stock or broth of choice
- 1 tablespoon cooking oil of choice ( 2 tablespoons if beef is lean)
- salt to taste
Prepare to cook the meatballs by placing ground meat in a bowl and breaking in the egg.
Add black pepper, spring onion leaves and garlic and mix very well using your hands.
Once the egg and seasonings are mixed well into the mince, shape and form the mince into about 12 meatballs or more
In a pan heat up the oil and fry the meatballs, turning them to cook all round for about 8 to 10 minutes
Once the meatballs are done take them off the pan and set them aside in a plate.
Add the onions to the pan and fry until they start to go golden brown, without burning.
Add the tomatoes and cook to a sauce for about 3 to 4 minutes.
Add the paprika and cayenne pepper and mix well.
Add the Tandoori masala spice and mix it in with the sauce.
Add bone broth or stock and bring to a simmer, season with salt, then add the meatballs back in.
Mix the meatballs with the sauce and simmer for a minute to 2 minutes.
Take the pan off the heat and set aside ready to serve.
