In this Spinach Turmeric Bone Broth Soup recipe, bone broth is blended with steamed spinach, some broccoli, with turmeric and some Hawaiian sweet potato. You can add in other veges you have and season with anything you like, or have. If you normally take your bone broth by drinking it as it is, this will change things up a bit. By adding toppings the soup can easily turn into a meal and you could have it as a light lunch with added eggs, avocado or other protein of choice.
Spinach Turmeric Bone Broth Soup Recipe
3 cups bone broth, 2 cups steamed spinach or other leafy green vegetable, 1 to 2 teaspoons fresh turmeric or 1 teaspoon powdered, 1 whole medium to large sweet potato, salt and seasoning of choice
Start off by boiling the washed sweet potato whole, or just cut in half in the middle. Boil in a cup of water for a bout 20 minutes.
Prepare all the vegetables and spices that will go into your soup ready for blending.
In a pot heat up the bone broth and bring to a boil. Add all the vegetables and spices. Add the sweet potato leaving a few slices for topping your soup.
Transfer all the ingredients to a blender. You can leave it cool for a bit to allow the steam to evaporate to make blending safe, as the steam and pressure from blending may make contents bubble over
Blend all the soup ingredients together to make a soup
Top with sliced sweet potato, other toppings you’re adding on, herbs and olive oil
