Easy Energizing and Refreshing Cold Brewed Coffee
With just a jar with a lid and a coffee plunger or any straining system your can make this Lemon Infused Cold Brew Coffee, that is tasty and refreshing. This coffee is also energizing due to the caffeine. You don’t need to have any fancy coffee making gadget to start brewing your coffee. This coffee is brewed in a jar using some purified water. After brewing and straining the coffee lemons with skin on and a bit of lemon juice are added to the coffee, then placed in the fridge to cool and also have the lemons infuse into the coffee.
This coffee is brewed strong at the ratio of 1 cup water to 1 tablespoon ground coffee. This will enable you to get a concentrated coffee you can easily dilute to make more coffee from just a small container. I brew the coffee at room temperature for about 8 to 12 hours. It’s also easier to just mix it just before bed and leave it to brew overnight.
Easy Recipe Adaptations
Instead of using lemons you can also use lime or oranges to flavor your drink in. If you have a smaller jar adjust your coffee and water quantities using the ration of 1 cup to 1 tablespoon water. Baby lemons were used to infuse the coffee which you can easily substitute with a bigger lemon.
Lemon Infused Cold Brew Coffee Recipe
Equipment : Glass jar with a lid, coffee press or other strainer
Brewing Time : 8 to 12 hours
6 to 8 servings
- 4 heaped tablespoons ground coffee
- 4 cups of cold purified water
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- About 6 baby lemons cut into halves or 1 diced lemon with skin on
- Sweetener of your choice
Pour cold purified water into the jar you’ll use for brewing the coffee in and top with the coffee.
Mix the coffee and water with a spoon and put the lid on.
Leave it to brew on the counter top or anywhere safe at room temperature for about 8 hours to 12 hours.
Once the coffee is done brewing filter using a coffee press or a very fine sieve.
Wash the jar that you brewed the coffee in and pour in the filtered coffee.
Add the lemon juice and sliced lemons and put the coffee in the fridge to cool and infuse for about an hour.
When you’re ready to have it pour half and half coffee with water to dilute or adjust to your taste.
Sweeten to your taste and add more lemon juice and ice and enjoy the refreshing taste.
