If you’re after a quick cooking chicken recipe with lots of flavor this Green Chili Turmeric Chicken recipe is handy. The chicken fillets are cut from one chicken breast to make the breast thinner and cooks quicker. The thin fillets also ensure the chicken remains tender. It also has more flavor, as the white meat surface is reduced. The seasoning combines turmeric, black pepper, green chili and parsley to make a dish that is full of health benefits as well as full of flavor.
Easy Recipe Adaptations
If you don’t have Parsley you Coriander leaf or Cilantro will also work well. This herb will produce a different flavor but tasty chicken dish.
Green Chili Turmeric Chicken Recipe
- 1 large skinless chicken breast
- 1 teaspoon turmeric powder
- One quarter teaspoon curry powder
- Half a teaspoon ground black pepper
- 1 green chili, sliced
- 1 tablespoon fresh chopped parsley
- 1 tablespoon cooking oil of choice
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- salt to taste
Prepare to cook the chicken breast by cutting it down it’s length, in the middle so you have 2 equal parts
Using a kitchen towel pat the chicken breasts ensuring they are dry.
Lay them flat on a plate and sprinkle on half the turmeric, curry powder and black pepper.
Press the seasonings firmly on the chicken with your hand, also flattening the fillet.
Turn the fillet to the other side and sprinkle on the remaining seasoning and press it onto the fillet.
In a pan at medium heat add your tablespoon of cooking oil and heat it up.
Fry the chicken fillets until they start to slightly brown for about 4 minutes each side.
Once they are cooked add the parsley, salt and some more black pepper if needed.
Add chili and olive oil and mix and take it off the heat ready to serve.
