Ginger Turmeric Milk Latte
The spice combination in this Ginger Turmeric Milk Latte makes a warming and spicy hot drink you will enjoy for breakfast or anytime of the day. The drink is full of good fats from the added coconut oil and it’s also made with coconut milk. You can be easily substitute the coconut milk with other milk of your choice. In this recipe the drink is topped with cocoa adding on the chocolate taste to the already creamy and spicy latte. If you’re on the AIP protocol or can’t have Cocoa use Carob for sprinkling over your latte. You can make your own coconut milk or use store bought coconut milk.
Ginger Turmeric Milk Latte Recipe
300 ml coconut milk, 100 ml water, 1 teaspoon turmeric powder, 3/4 a teaspoon ginger, 1 teaspoon cinnamon, 2 teaspoons coconut oil, honey or other sweeter of choice to taste, small pinch of himalayan salt or other salt of choice, Carob or Cocoa (optional), Pinch of black pepper (if not AIP)
In a pot, at medium heat warm up the coconut milk mixed with the water and take it off the heat just when it starts to boil.
Transfer the coconut milk on to the blender and add the coconut oil, turmeric, ginger, cinnamon, black pepper and honey to the blender
Cover with a lid and blend for 30 seconds or so.
Pour your drinks into your cups and sprinkle on some cocoa or carob and enjoy your warming latte.
